38 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. 39 “Take away the stone,” he said.
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” John 11: 38-42 (NIV)
Do you need a faith refresh? Sometimes our faith gets stagnant and can start getting a pretty bad odor. Those times are recognizable by our complaints about church, family, our finances, our jobs, and a dozen little things that irritate us in our daily lives. When was the last time you saw the glory of God? Sometimes we need a refresh on our faithometer, we need to see the greatness, majesty, and splendor of the Lord to empower us to continue to walk in the dark times. When we do, let us remember that Jesus is interceding for us and we can be assured of God’s radiant, powerful presence in our lives.
